BOOMROCK!
I have wanted to go to Boomrock for SO LONG and FINALLY made it there, in tweed, for the Wellington on a Plate 2018 Boomrock Lodge, Winter Game Shoot. It wās so incredibly amazing so I had to share a few photos here.

If you don’t know what Boomrock is, it is 3000 acres of farmland along the west coast about 20km from Wellington. The land is the site of the original settlement of Captain John Eastwick from way back in the 1920s. But now, Boomrock is a diversified station hosting functions and providing adrenalin pumping activities with a countryside twist.
Boomrock is a function venue like no other, with what could easily be the most spectacular view in the world! Standing at the lodge (the main venue building), you can see the South Island rising on the horizon and if you are lucky enough to be there on a clear day like we were, you can also see Mount Taranaki, rising to the North. Ahhhhhh!
Usually, mainly booked for weddings and corporate functions, this Wellington on a Plate event was the perfect opportunity for us normal people to come and try out Boomrock. We had a couple of hours of clay shooting (which I was terrible at but others loved), followed by a crazy amazing three-course meal by chef Mark Hartstonge. The food was incredible, a really really high standard and all sustainably sources from local producers, which I love.
And if you are too late for the Wellington on a Plate event (there is another one one Saturday, Aug 25th), don’t fear, Boomrock also host some Open Days. The monthly open Sunday event, for example, includes lunch, other activities and transport to and from Wellington so you don’t have to worry about having a drink – perfecto!
I won’t say much more, because it is all about the photos really, but for all the info head to the Boomrock Website HERE.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this unforgettable spot, if you can get there, GO!
Thanks for reading and come back soon! Lots more to come.
